My menswear collection was inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night and self-portrait, combined with Michael Jackson’s 1980s style. I focused on textile textures, starting with fabric manipulations that echoed Van Gogh’s brushstrokes. To avoid a direct painting interpretation, I incorporated metallic elements inspired by Jackson.
The collection featured simple silhouettes with fabric manipulations and patchwork on blazers, pants, and shirts. The suit’s texture recreated Starry Night’s swirling patterns, while the shirt used patchwork and fabric scraps to depict Van Gogh’s self-portrait.
