R A W M A T E R I A L is about fabric manipulation, ASAP Rocky style. I’m trying to combine sportswear and manipulation from simple clothes to texture and bagginess in them. As I chose ASAP Rocky as an inspiration, I thought of not changing the construction of the garments, but just changing their fabrics and texture. To choose the right silhouette, I choose urban streets and texture in them.
The idea came from exploring something new. So I tried to explore music I have never listened to before, from that I found rapper ASAP Rocky who has a very interesting fashion sense. From that point, I started exploring his outfits more and saw that some clothes can make another person not good-looking, but if you put it on ASAP Rocky, It will look different. So that interested me to dig into more.
For this collection, I made 2 jackets, the first one is contracted with paracord on the top and elastic thread from the inside. The other jacket is double-sided, the decorative side has a patchwork on the back ( tried to recreate metro station with bad lighting and it looks like you are standing next to the platform) and in the front is gathered with a tread, the second side is very simple, just gathered fabric with a thread.
